One thing I noticed was that you left a bullet point, "introduction of pathway into cereal crops". It would be nice to see what that would be, if possible.

There are a few typos throughout so I'd suggest to go over it with a close eye and correct them. As far as contents it looks good enough to me I'd probably add a bit more experimental details but that's more my personal preference. I think in general it was well broken down and well explained. Also I think the wiki would benefit it figures had a little more expanded captions.
  • --Gabriel Suarez (talk) 11:26, 18 April 2014 (CDT) I'm not sure if the terminology "top-down" and "bottom-up" are so common in this field as to be appropriate for the intro paragraph, or if it really describes best the message you are trying to convey. Next sentence in the same paragraph has typo: "this process is is a". Then you mention "high-priority gene clusters"...do you mean clusters of interest? Seems to me like its more undefined terminology that would make the article less accessible to first time readers of the subject. I also think you can make clearer the following phrase "many refactored gene clusters come from well-characterized chemical cascades". Take off an e from "organism must be me-e-t". You should change "were" and "was" to "is" in: "Once the codons were computationally changed, a computer was used to scan the sequence to ensure that a known regulatory sequence wasn't accidentally introduced into the refactored gene cluster." The same goes for the next sentence "Once the native regulatory sequences were...". When you say, "It is unlikely, therefore, that these large sequences could be assembled in vivo using yeast because many of the repetitive sequences lead to deletion of parts by recombination events", you should then mention the solution, i.e., use bacteria or whatever other solutions are available to this sort of problem. Overall, the structure was good and the information gathered good and interesting.

However, I feel like if you can put more figures to illustrate some important ideas, it will make the big picture of this wiki more clear. For example, in the "Process" section you have a nice figure of finding the gene cluster, but there are no figures in other paragraphs. Also, you have a good example of nitrogen fixation, and I think a figure that illustrate the overall strategy of refractory will make the paragraph more interesting and informative.
